Winegrowing in Tuscany – a millennia-old tradition
Traditional Tuscan cuisine is considered “cucina povera”, i.e. poor people’s cuisine with a rural-peasant flavour.
Countless artists have published their love of Bella Italia in the past – today’s generation is following suit.
Who doesn’t love this pick-me-up aromatic drink served in small cups? It originated in Milan, where it became fashionable around 1900. In terms of machines, there are various ways to prepare an espresso: Semi-automatic and fully automatic machines as well as hand-lever machines and single- and double-circuit machines are common options.
It was the “natural way of life and agility, next to which we northerners look like marionettes” that inspired the author Hermann Hesse during his journey through Tuscany. But it was also the unique cultural treasures and the diverse natural landscapes, the picturesque villages and the special flair of the cities that impressed him – and that still cast a spell on numerous people year after year.
